Our rooibos
When selecting the tea base for our kombucha, we were meticulous. It had to be the highest quality, organically farmed, and in harmony with nature. Our kombucha is brewed with a unique blend of 80% organic rooibos and 20% black tea. Why the combination?
While rooibos is rich in antioxidants and naturally caffeine-free, it’s also low in tannins — a compound necessary for the fermentation process. The addition of black tea ensures the perfect balance of tannins and nutrients for a healthy and stable SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), which brings our kombucha to life.
Our rooibos is sourced from a sustainably certified organic farm that operates in alignment with nature. This supplier is a steward of the Greater Cederberg Biodiversity Corridor, having set aside more than 90% of its land for conservation. Their environmentally conscious practices — from vermicomposting and organic liquid fertilizer to carbon-neutral fuel use — ensure that our ingredients are not only good for you but good for the planet.
The Flavouring
Our flavor profiles are vibrant, natural, and purposeful.
We use highly concentrated, shelf-stable natural or organic-compliant flavor extracts that are specifically designed for living, fermented beverages. These flavorings are:
- Sugar-free
- Vegan and gluten-free
- Biome-safe (won’t interfere with shelf stability)
- Easy to incorporate in small, potent amounts
This approach allows us to maintain low sugar levels — essential for a family-friendly kombucha with naturally low alcohol content — while delivering refreshing, consistent taste across every batch.
ABOUT OUR OILS
Our oils are certified by the FDA as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) approved as a food/beverage additive and adhere to a ‘Seed to seal’ policy. What is Seed to seal?
In essence, Seed to Seal is a guarantee to customers that the products are:

Our kombucha is brewed with purified water using Reverse Osmosis (RO) — a process that removes impurities but also strips water of essential minerals. We take it a step further by remineralizing the water, infusing it with 84 trace minerals to restore its vitality and support hydration. This creates a mineral-enriched base that aligns with our philosophy of nourishment and balance.
